Mindset, Leading + Teams: What I’m Reading and Listening to

Over the last weeks, I’ve turned my consumption of content to BIG ideas.

The frameworks and tools that not only move the needle in business, but prime you to leap from level to level as your business grows!

My reading and listening has been focused in three areas – mindset + self-ownership, leadership and team building.

So what has my brain spinning in the best way possible?

It’s all right here…

Marsha Shandur: In this post, you get Marsha telling her funny, vulnerable story on the World Domination Summit stage from this summer. Plus, she shares an invite to her Facebook community (you might just see me in it). Watch her talk here.

Lacy Boggs: I LOVE this fresh, no-nonsense perspective to using email to connect with people and grow your business. Hint – it might not be what you think. Read it right here.

Want a little more Lacy? Have a listen to her interview with sales expert Kendrick Shoppe where they talk about finding your voice to make that business of yours, YOURS.

Seth Godin: On his recent podcast episode, Seth talked about ignoring the sunk costs in life. Imagine how much energy and brain space we’d free up if we approached decisions from this vantage point and pushed pass the dip? I recommend sticking around for the Q&A at the end, where Seth goes deep on answering listener questions about making your art for your people and ignoring the rest of the world. Have a listen here online or here on Apple Podcasts.

Want the very-much abridged version? Read Seth’s blog post on the topic of difficult decisions here.

I’m also fallen in love with these books on leadership and teams:

  • The Ideal Team Player: How to Recognize and Cultivate The Three Essential Virtues, by Patrick Lencioni
  • Energy Leadership: Transforming Your Workplace and Your Life from the Core, by Bruce Schneider

Next up on my reading list:

  • Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One, by Dr. Joe Dispenza
  • The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, by Patrick Lencioni

Oh, before you go, I’m curious to know – would you buy the green iguana?
