What I’m Reading, Listening to and Watching to Keep on My Business Toes [Part 2]

I’m a mission to share everything I know about business and finding the ease in running a successful company with everyone I know.

I read, listen and watch much of it, so that you don’t have to.

Here’s the shortlist of ideas, tips and tactics that have caught my eye and enhanced my business world:

  • I recently posted a quote from John Wooden about putting forth a little effort each day to get really good at a particular activity, skill, technique, talent over time. I was blown away by your emails back to me, so I wanted to share a bit of background.

I first came across the quote in Carol Dweck’s book, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success. If you haven’t read it, get to your nearest library and check-out the printed book or rent the audiobook.

Or listen in to Brooke Castillo’s podcast on what she’s learned from Carol Dweck.
  •

  • Have you ever wanted to pick the brain of a business expert and ask how you can build your business in a smart, sustainable, efficient way and conquer your fear of putting your work out there? You’re not alone and Seth Godin shares those exact insights in episode 2 of his Akimbo podcast. Listen in here, starting at the 23:26 mark (or just listen to the entire episode – it’s that good).

  • Two of my most favorite business go-to’s have been mashed up! Seth Godin has teamed up with Moo.com to create the ShipIt Journal, which makes it easy and clean to plan your project on paper, stay focused on the goal and make a ruckus. Grab your own copy here.

  • Think you might be heading toward burnout? Stop what you’re going right now and watch this recent episode of MarieTV. Since I’m information nerd, my favorite is step #3, which has science to back it up. Check it out at the 3:53 mark in the video.
